Dr. Sandrine Ngalula Mubenga is pleased to share a collection of photos and videos highlighting her 2025–2026 Fulbright U.S. Scholar appointment at the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
During her Fulbright appointment, Dr. Mubenga taught Renewable Energy Engineering, conducted research on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage, and net metering, and collaborated with students, faculty, utilities, industry partners, and policymakers. The experience fostered meaningful academic, research, and industry partnerships between South Africa, the United States, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Wits University, recently ranked the leading university in Africa, provided an exceptional environment for advancing renewable energy education and applied research.
Highlights of the Fulbright Appointment:
– Teaching ELEN4023A Renewable Energy Engineering
– Supervising student projects focused on renewable energy solutions across South Africa’s provinces
– Conducting research on residential solar PV, battery storage, and net metering
