Rep. Carfagna, Chair of the Ohio House Finance Subcommittee on Higher Education visited our Power Electronics Lab on 3/18/2019. Prof. Mubenga briefly explained the research that our team conducts.
According to the University of Toledo, the Power Electronics Lab is fully equipped to design, build, and test switching power converters up to power levels of 10 KW. It also houses environmental test chambers and specialized battery testing facilities up to 400 volts and 150 amps.
The Power Electronics Lab specializes in research on improved methods for processing electric energy. Most of the current projects are concerned with electronic controls and converters for batteries and photovoltaics.
State Representative Rick Carfagna is serving his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 68th House District, which includes the eastern half of Delaware County and all of Knox County.
During his first term in office, Rep. Carfagna served as Vice-Chair of the House Public Utilities Committee, and also sat on the Agriculture & Rural Development, Rules & Reference and State & Local Government Committees. Additionally, Rep. Carfagna serves on the Ohio Retirement Study Council, which oversees the Ohio Power Siting Board and the Public Benefits Advisory Board.
